COBRAM August 1/2 2009
Cobram! Once again what a great competition and good flying to!
This year saw 25 entries with some new blood in sportsman. Everyone got in six flights each with Bill Bloodworth taking out F3A, Ron Shulz for expert, Norm Morrish in Advanced and Mathew Bailey taking out sportsman flying an ex Bill Bloodworth "Partner". On the Saturday Sporstman/Advanced/Expert flew 4 flights with F3A and masters having two.
That night it was at the Cobram colonial motel restaurant for dinner with the VPA AGM just before the meal. A great night was enjoyed by all.

The next morning some got up a little over-hung and made their way slowly to the field!!! The day went smoothly with presentation at 3:30pm and everyone on their way at 4:00pm. Full results in pdf can be seen at www.vicpattern.org.au Next one for us is at Albury hope to see you there!!!
The Electric den! Chargers and a portable oven makes the packs warm for best performance. Electric is looking very promising with the cost of conversion.
Will Crossman's YS all in bits after a bearing failiure when he was turning it over. Amazingly, he got it running and flew 4 flights on the Sunday.
The Cobram flying field-Awesome!
The Lilydale flying club that turned up to compete. An amazing effort.
Not such a brilliant ending...
That has'nt gone all that well!
Not to much flying happening here!

MILDURA June 6/7/8 Vic V SA challenge
Finally Mildura! Mildura this year was an awesome social comp with flying spread over three days: The comp officially started at lunch time on the Saturday, flying all day Sunday and finishing off at lunch time on Monday (Queens Birthday). Everyone was treated to a continuos supply of dim sims and coffee from Sparklers' coffee machine with help from GlennO and Chris N.
On the Saturday night everyone enjoyed the night in at the "pizza cafe" with a "all you can eat" dinner and was a great night enjoyed by all. On the Sunday night the night was held by us (nugents) and hopefully was a night enjoyed by all. Next ones' at Cobram, hope to see you there!!!

Shepparton 2009 Australian Masters April 25th/26th
After all Shepparton was an enjoyable compettition with lots learned from Jason Shulman. A high-light was on the Sunday afternoon with Jason doing an "F" schedule display-very impressive.
Although planes were playing hide and seek under tarpolains and under shelters we did get some flying in with Expert/Advanced getting in two rounds and F3a/Sportsman getting in 4 rounds. Well done the CD for fitting in as many flights as we did.
